Aging beer has become quite an art form and the beneficiaries are beer drinkers as the gigantic flavors just continue to explode out of the barrels in which they were aged. Hangar 24 Craft Brewing has mastered this process and nothing more defines it than the fact that every pour of Pugachev’s Cobra is more than a beer, it is something that will linger with you long after it is gone, from its scent to the many flavors you will experience.

Pugachev’s Cobra is aptly named for a Russian pilot named Viktor Pugachev who was knowing for a flying maneuver where he raised the nose of his plane as a stall tactic then dropped the nose back down to get back into attack mode.

. This over-the-top, in a good way, Russian Imperial Stout will hit you from the moment you open the bottle as the eight months that it is aged in freshly emptied bourbon barrels is evident in the aroma. You can see the flavors from the pour as it is a wonderfully rich and dark beer that combines chocolate, vanilla, oak, bourbon, licorice and dark fruits, while flavors of chocolate-covered plum, sweet malt, bourbon, and roasted coffee and finishes with a thick caramel head. Calling Pugachev’s Cobra artistry is no overstatement as it is created using three different dark roasted malts and rich maple syrup in its brewing process. No need for you to worry about the many layers of depth to Pugachev’s Cobra, simply enjoy it for all of the greatness that it is.
